Hi!

I tried my best with this tutorial: http://www.aspsnippets.com/Articles/Encrypt-and-Decrypt-Connection-String-in-AppConfig-file.aspx

But it seems not working in my app. I did everything the same. I added System.Configuration reference and what i have is just an error:

The name 'Configurationmanager' does not exist in the current context

Do you have any ideas?

I think it can be important, but my app works with this type of app.config:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<startup>
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.5" />
</startup>
</configuration>

so there is startup instead of connectionStrings. Of course I changed it to connectionStrings when i was trying to encode.

Hi damianoo11,

Refer the screenshot for adding reference and also add the reference in page.
